International Pathology News Bulletin

On behalf of the South African Division of the International Academy of Pathology, it gives me great pleasure to invite you to attend the International Meeting of the IAP, which is to be held in Cape Town from the 30th of September to the 5th of October 2012. This is the first time that the International Meeting of the IAP has been held on the African continent and your participation will contribute to Pathology education in the continent as a whole and with the diverse and rich scientific program, your own knowledge and expertise will be enhanced. The Cape Town International Convention Centre offers excellent facilities and with the backdrop of Table Mountain there can be no better venue to hold such a prestigious meeting, which will remain in your memory for years to come.

Wide ranges of pre- and post-congress tours are being planned, not only in the Cape Town region, but also in the country as a whole.

The Table Mountain chain together with the unique Cape Floral Kingdom has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers the visitor an opportunity to explore and discover geological and botanical experiences not found anywhere else in the world.

Further afield, a fascinating country of great cultural and geographical diversity waits to be explored. Indeed there is no better way of describing South Africa as “a world in one country”.

Welcome to South Africa and the IAP Meeting, Cape Town 2012.

Prof Martin Hale
IAP 2012 Congress President
